3 Steps to Fix a Clogged Toilet Without a Plunger

Get out the dish soap and shampoo! Dish soap and shampoo should allow everything to slide down the pipe easier once you let the contents sit for a while. Don’t be shy and use plenty of shampoo or soap. Cutting up a bar of soap will also accomplish the same, but could take a little longer to dissolve and provide the same results.
Add some hot water. Adding hot water will further allow the contents to break up and move through the pipes easier. Make sure not to add too much to prevent a potential overflow when you flush. Also make sure the water is not boiling to prevent any further damage to the bowl or pipes.
Let it sit. After pouring the contents in the bowl, allow everything to sit so it can break up and slide through the pipes easily. It’s possible that you will need to repeat the first two steps and you may also want to unravel a hanger or something similar to push any additional contents down the drain.
